GITIS R&D team has developed an innovative material specifically designed for high-pressure and low-temperature sealing systems, intended for hydrogen infrastructures.
The project integrated polymer screening, formulation, prototyping, and laboratory testing (mechanical, chemical, thermal, and aging) to validate performance.
Key features:
- H₂ compatibility: minimal permeability and mechanical stability in hydrogen-rich environments
- Resistance down to -60°C while maintaining elasticity and sealing capability PFAS-free, compliant with new European regulations
- Reliability under high pressures, without permanent deformation
- Resistance to explosive decompression, ensuring greater operational safety
This achievement represents a step forward in material design for the energy sector, aiming to ensure safety, durability, and sustainability in hydrogen-related applications.
